| Hi there,
Is it possible to bring over old posts from the previous forum? I'm posting on behalf of my father. I know on the old forum, I learned some info about what I Corps Artillery Gp meant. I can't get to the old site. Is the info gone?
Thanks for your advice and best wishes on your new forum!

| I Corp (GP) was the the organization that was above the Divisions, like the 7th Infantry Division, the 2nd Infantry Division. The Divisions had a 2 star General, and I Corp had a 3 Star General. I Corp was located just north of Seoul. The (GP) stands for Group. I Corp (GP) Artillery had a General over it, and had the BIG artillery guns to support the divisions. Near the end of the Korean War, I Corp Artillery was located next to the Hantan River, north of route 37 in the north central area, just south of the DMZ. This is where Camp St Barbara was established, and remained till the 1972/1973 time frame. Here is where I Corp Artillery was: http://qsl.net/wd4ngb/stbarbara.htm | |
