I was stationed at Camp Colbern fom June 1964 - July 1965 with the 3/81 Field Artillery Sergeant Missile Battalion. I would like to hear from anyone who was stationed there during that time or with the 3/81. Very Happy

Hello Lt, Welcome to the Forum. I was only at Colbern for a couple of months, but liked it. They did not need a regular PT program there with the exercise you got through normal walking up/down that hill. Smile

If you have any pictures from your time there, I would love to add them to the Cp Colbern page on here.

Camp Colbern was my first assignment after my officer basic course. I was A Battery's recon and survey officer for a few months, later the firing platoon leader. In January I got a Regular Army commission in the Medical Service Corps and transferred to Camp Red Cloud, Ouijongbu until the nation's bicentennial. (Later I went to medical school and held my sixth MOS at retirement. I guess I just can't keep a job.) Very Happy

Re: 3/81 st. ASCOM city, Camp Colbern, March 1964 - June 1965

Hi Lt. I believe you were our first survey officer, A battery survey section.
I was The Primary instrument operator for A battery,s survey section. Have many photos, including construction of Camp Colbern.
