There are a few Camps in that area that I can recall; Camp Jonathan Williams, Camp Howze, Camp Beaver. Do any of these sound familiar? SSG Olson

Welcome to the site Whitey. You were at Cp Jackson. The 6/12th had a couple of Batteries there also, which moved to St Barbara.

Here is a page I set up about Jacksom.

wd4ngb;

Thanks you i believed that is it. When i was station their we were the only outfit Their. C Battery 3/38th 280 Bn. when we got alert all we had to do move our guns over next too the burm that had the nuclear rounds, we never fire the guns from their However we were allways ready to do so and on our 5 ton trucks we had 600 rounds of HE. Our mission was if Joe-chink threating the DMZ we would start fireing on it to delay him a much as possible until I corp could get on line. I believeve that Korea is the coldest place that i have ever been I Spent 2 years in Germany and 2 years in Alaska but i think Korea cold hurt you more. I have a few photos that i will try to post whenever i can get around to it.

The 280s with there Nuke capibilities is one of the things that brought the Norks to the Cease Fire talks. They were being badly beaten, and the idea of the 280s dropping tactical nukes on them was too much. Smile Love to see some photos.

These 2 were taken up at Cp St Barbara of the 280s
