I was CO of A Battery 1st TAB, Nov 66 - Dec 67. Things were getting interesting about the time I left.

This is a great site, and I would enjoy talking to anybody who remembers me, especially guys from my unit. I have recently talked to Lt Missroon, who was CO of C Battery 6/12 while I was there. He is a retired Colonel. Lt Rakowski ,HHB 6/12, is a retired policeman in Detroit. Lt Kelting from C Battery 6/12 runs a business in South Florida.

Thanks. This looks about the way it did when I was there, except that the motor pool was usually full of vehicles. The fence around it was broken after some slicky-boys stole the rear axles from some of the deuce-and-a-halfs, and one of them rolled off the hardstand and through the fence. The security guards were humiliated, and they had the axles back within a few hours. No more thefts from the compound after that. The photo was probably taken from Fob's Knob.

This is what is back a little farther back to the east in the valley past the TAB. No idea what it is.

"Lt Rakowski ,HHB 6/12,"

I THINK I remember him. Tall and lanky?

I was FDC Bat'l Chf Computer. HHB 6/12, "66-early '67. Replaced Frederickson. Went from there to Ft. Hood, Pistol Team 'til ETS. '68.

I'm retired in Branson, Mo. Lake Table Rock. If you get down here, look me up. Dan Bopp.

Hi Guys,
I just recently stumbled on to this site and noticed the following: In the first photo, "shot of A Batt. I noticed the EM hooches are missing. My hooche is gone from where it was in 67 when Smith and I were there. I see the EM club and can follow the path down to where the huts were. I can't figure out what they've done. I remember the huts were just behind the formation area. Must be newer photo of the Battery perhaps in the 70s.
Regards, Donovan

I lost track of what time period this photo was from, but my guess is it was from the earlier years before they were built.
