Aloha,
I was a part of the unit that helped close Camp Colbern in 2005. I was a Section Sergeant with Charlie Company, 304th Signal Battalion. We packed all of our gear, cleaned everything up, and headed to Camp Stanley. I heard that 304th is now or has moved to camp Humphreys. I was stationed in korea twice, first time for a year in Camp Carroll from 1998-1999, then again in Camp Colbern from 2004-2005 and then Camp Stanley from 2005-2006. Camp Colbern was a very tiny post, but it had everything we needed and better than that, it was ours! A tight knit group of Soldiers and civilians and we were one of a kind because basically everyone knew everyone stationed on Colbern. I do miss it, alot! From the pictures, it looks like it has just been overgrown and going to crap! Anyways, I am out of the Army at 13 years, missing it...I finished as a Drill Sergeant at Fort Knox in 2009. Anyways, if any people want to chat about Camp Colbern, hit me up.
