| Camp Jonathan Williams was (or may still be) located on MSR 1 north of Seoul and south of Camp Howze. I was stationed there 1965-1966 and visited the compound in 1969. Is there anyone out there that is familiar with the camp? If so, do you have any photos to post? All of my photots were lost over the past years. Thanks, SSG Olson | |

| I was stationed at camp Jonathan Williams from March 1961 till April 1962. I was in the 600 engineer bat. maint DS. We were in the far rear of the compound. I remember a artillery company and a R.O.K. army company also. I do have a couple of photos but I lost most of them on the ship on the way home. | |

| I was stationed to camp jonathan williams on Oct. of 1966. The company I was assigned to was the 37th maint. co. After a few weeks there, the co asked if anybody wanted to be a gate guard and I said I would. Six of us guys had our own barracks, 3 gate guards and 3 switch board operators. I have a book they made up of the company. ther are alot of pictures of the place and all the guys. I'm not in the book because I got called home because of a death in the family. The 37th was there for about 8 months and then we moved south near Seoul. What was the names of the two villes outside the gate? I spent some time there. Left Korea in Nov. of 67 and spent about a year at Ft. lenoredwood Mo. My home is in Wisconsin. I am retired now after spending over 40 years at Mercury marine as a maintenance mechanic. | I was in the old country from June 1965 to July 1966. Unfortunately senile dementia, or maybe just the passage of decades, has made me forget details like the name of the camp and the adjoining village. The description of Jonathan Williams as a Hawk post north of Seoul makes me suspect that may have been the one. I was in the 5760th Signal Company attached to the missile outfit. We rode a deuce&½ to a mountain top missile site where I attempted to keep the small generators operational. I'll post some pictures and see if anybody recognizes the place. But I'll start with a shot of me having a beer on the terrace and will hunt up some others later.

| Apparently I won't post any pictures after all. I don't see the one I tried, so I guess that function doesn't work. | |

| Since I posted this afternoon I did a little research and found out that yes, Jonathan Williams was the camp. I also found that I'm not allowed to post pictures for a week, so that will have to wait. | |

| Frank, you arrived about the time I was leaving. I arrived in June of 1965 and left in July of 1966. As you can see by previous posts, I tried to post more pictures but they never showed up. Too bad. You might have recognized somebody in them. | |

| Steve, can you locate Camp Jonathon Williams on any map, or point out where it should be marked?
What village or other camp was close to it?

| Unfortunately, no. I've looked at Google maps and satellite view trying to locate it, even using street view, and I haven't found anything I recognize. Everything has changed so much that nothing looks familiar. I can read hangul a little bit, and even that hasn't helped. | |

| Do you remember any other Camps near it, and rough direction. I thought it was near Camp Howez and Camp Ross, but so long ago.

| I don't remember Ross, but Howze sounds familiar. I think it was farther north. I don't think I ever went to any other camps more than once or twice. I'm like you. It was so long ago that a lot of the memories have faded. Sometime I'll do more searching and see if I can figure out where these places were. | |
