Just got word that JP, James Morrissey IV has passed away in Las Vegas NV. RIP my old FRIEND!!

James P. Morrissey IV died unexpectedly October 11 in Las Vegas, NV.
He was born November 14, 1957 in Washington, DC to James P. Morrissey III and
his wife, Phyllis. He grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY, graduating from Roy C. Ketcham
high school in 1975. He entered the US Army, serving two tours of duty in Korea.
Upon discharge, he joined Harris Corporation and later Motorola in Huntsville, AL.
He accepted a position with Motorola in the Far East and was headquartered in
Singapore. He returned to the U.S. in 1998 and served as a technical consultant
for various firms. He is survived by his daughter, Alexandra Nicole, and his former
wife, Lucy Chew, both of Singapore, his sister, Suzanne Huber, of Stuart, FL, his step-mother, Rosemary Morrissey, of Newnan, GA, a half-sister, Mary Ayala, of Kensington, MD, a half-brother, Jackie Nelson of Woodstock, NY and several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
Funeral arrangements will be made at the convenience of the family. To his stateside family, he was Jimmy. To his Singaporean family he was James, and to his many friends he was JP. He was much loved and will be missed by all.

I am Linvel Hunt, was a SP-4 when I left. I was there from 1978 to 81 as a 24L (Shop Cool.

Hello Holtzapple,
I remember you from when I was at the DSD, when I got there Capt. Davis was the Commander. Sorry to here about JP, Boyles & Brinkley. Joey Boyles was the 1st person I met on the compound. The 1 thing that stands out is the time he stuck a fire extinguisher into the organ of a Korean band that was playing in the small club on compound we had.
I also remember Maxwell, Schrader, Woffard, Kimball, Nelson and Brehm, I think Brehm was also in Shop 8 with me. SSG (at the time)Schrader was always the Softball coach. Not sure if you remember Brian Kuhl but he was also in my shop. I have a couple of year books from my time on Camp To-Bong-San compound that I look at from time to time.

Aloha, I spent 48 months with the 2d Bn (HAWK) 71st ADA at Red Cloud, venturing to each battery and DSP on a rotating basis all those years, and visited the Brigade HQ at Osan as well. I ventured back over the years in 1973 and 1994. I served under four battalion commanders and knew many from that time throughout the 38th ADA BDE. You can see a bit more at MPPublishing.org

I was at DSD from 1980 to 1981
You might remember me I was just a Specfour most every one called me Harry. I was a 52C and work in the engineer shop.
Many people at DSD from 1980 to its deactivation were awarded the Air Force outstanding Unit Citation (AFOUS). The three star Air Force General that was in charge awarded it to all of us, but many people did not know this. I found out from Mike Skelly when he came to Fort Campbell. So I was able to obtain the orders and get added to my 201 file.

I am trying to locate Bob Garcia who was with the 2/71 at Uijongbu. I think he was a SSG. He was a Ham Radio operator and so was I. Helped get the MARS Station going on CRC.

My email is wd4ngb@charternet
